The following workshops will be offered this semester (Fall 2025). A description of each workshop can be found below.

This practical workshop covers the key rules of APA 7th edition referencing. Learn how to create accurate in-text citations, format reference lists correctly, and avoid common errors. 4. Acknowledging AI Use in Academic Assignments

This workshop introduces practical strategies for disclosing AI use in academic work. Learn when and how to acknowledge tools like ChatGPT using declarations, tables, footnotes, or citations. We’ll explore examples, templates, and common scenarios to help you maintain academic integrity and align with evolving university and publishing standards.

5. Ten Tips for Scientific Article Writing

An easy-to-follow workshop for beginners on how to write clear, well-structured, and impactful scientific papers, with tips on organizing content, using visuals, ensuring accuracy, and citing sources correctly to improve visibility and credibility.

A step-by-step workshop on converting a thesis into publishable papers, exploring publication types, structural differences between theses and journal articles, strategic planning, and real examples from HBKU graduates to inspire and guide participants.

This workshop introduces AI-powered tools that support the research and writing process, including literature discovery, results analysis, visualization, and drafting, with a focus on using them effectively to enhance research productivity and quality.

This workshop introduces effective strategies for generating and refining ideas, combining the affordances of AI with proven traditional brainstorming techniques. It will explore practical, ethical, and creative approaches to spark original thinking and develop writing projects with greater confidence.

9. Planning and Outlining with AI

This session offers practical tips for planning and structuring academic work by combining AI-assisted tools with tried-and-tested outlining methods. It will help with organizing ideas, building clear frameworks, and adapting plans to support the writing progress.

10. Discovering and Asserting your Scholarly Voice
