Improve your Concentration

Prepare your Study Set and Mindset
- Set a regular study time.
- Prepare a plan for your study time in a way to start with the most important content.
- Specify a reasonable duration for study as you will not be able to maintain a good concentration for several hours in a row.
- Make sure breaks are part of your plan, so that you can recharge and get back to your studies with energy. Quality time breaks are highly encouraged.
- Try as much as possible to keep your personal worries away; meditation, walking, or music before studying could be of big help.
- Keep any source of distraction away: phone, tablet, etc..
- If possible, select a calm and quiet location with great light.
- Give yourself some encouragement along the way.
Maintain Strong Concentration while Studying
- Use one or more effective study methods, such as using notecards, drawing, creating an outline, etc.
- Take break each hour for 5-10 minutes to give your brain time to rest. Move around or take a walk if possible.
- Interact with the learning material by asking questions, or by relating them to real life, making them more meaningful and interesting enough to maintain your attention.
- Study with classmates, in pairs or groups, which not only would help you stay focused, but could also foster collaboration and increase efficiency.
- Use your mental strategies to manage your mind wandering off: talk to yourself to bring it back to the "here and now".
- Set manageable and short-term study goals to help you stay on track.
- Reward yourself after attaining your study goals.
