Support

Students are encouraged to seek assistance throughout their work on the thesis.

 Meet with a Librarian

HBKU Librarians are glad to assist students in their research, guiding them on where and how to search and find relevant resources. Appointments can be scheduled for one-on-one support at a convenient time.

 Requesting Articles/Book Chapters

Document Delivery Service (DDS) provides students with research and study materials (articles, books chapters, proceedings, reports etc.) that are not available at HBKU Library. To request an item, please follow the instructions on the DDS page.

 Borrowing Books from EC Libraries

Interlibrary loan allows HBKU students to borrow print/physical books from other libraries within Education City, provided that the items are not available within HBKU Library collection. Please follow the instructions on the ILL page.

 Suggesting Books/eBooks

HBKU Library welcomes suggestions and recommendations for new resources to be added to the library collection and that could support the research work of your project/thesis/dissertation. Please follow check the details on the Suggest a Title page.

With the large number of sources/references used in projects, theses, and especially dissertations, the use of a citation management tool is highly recommended as it helps the student organizing sources of information and creating citations and bibliographies for books, articles, websites and more. The tool works with word-processing softwares to insert properly in-text citations into a paper and create a properly formatted bibliography.

HBKU Library provides its members with access to RefWorks via ProQuest using their HBKU email address.  Students may also use other freely available tools, such as Mendeley or Zotero.

HBKU Librarians are glad to assist students in using any of these tools. Appointments can be scheduled for one-on-one support at a convenient time.
